PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Q: Good project management helps an organization respond faster, accomplish its strategic goals, and recognize return on investment. As organizations have recognized the fundamental benefits of project management, the practice has become much more democratic, inviting participation from the individuals actually doing the work. What benefits (or problems) do you see from this peer-to-peer model?

A: Inviting participation can lead to increased conflict. The interaction can exacerbate any repressed issues. Often times, there needs to be a shift to better soft skills and leadership in order for project management to succeed in this peer-to-peer environment.
